Q: I have an older version of SA. Will WatchIt! work with it?

SA versions prior to SA 2009.07.15 did not transmit data from watch windows. If your SA version is older than this, then WatchIt! will not work for you unless you upgrade.

Q: How do I bring my measurements into SA?

WatchIt! will send measurements to any email address, or you can transfer the measurement data by connecting the device to your computer using its USB cable and transferring the data via iTunes. You'll end up with two ASCII text files: one with your 3D (point) measurements, and the other with your 6 DOF measurements.

Either of these text files can be imported into SA using the File > Import > ASCII: Predefined Formats command.

Q: I have a "Closest Point" Watch Window running. Why won't the watch window appear in WatchIt!?

SA's broadcast data format changed slightly between SA versions 2010.09.30 and 2010.11.15. Make sure WatchIt! is set up to receive data from the proper SA version in the settings.

Q: How do I set up SA to broadcast watch windows?

Q: I don't have a wireless router. How do I set up my computer to transmit watch window data directly to my iPod touch®/iPhone®/iPad®?

This is called an "Ad-Hoc" network, and as long as your computer has a wireless network card, you can set one up easily. Instructions for setting up an Ad-Hoc network can be found in the WatchIt! User Guide or by searching the web.

Q: Why is WatchIt! more expensive than most iPhone® Apps? Please make it $0.99, like other apps.

Since WatchIt! is an app that only works with SpatialAnalyzer™, there are less potential users for it. As a result, the cost is a little bit higher. It's just economies of scale.

But we're confident the app will pay for itself very, very quickly.
